Melb76Love podcastI love the podcast. Lots of information. I appreciate it. Just too much extra drama. You won’t need to say “trying not to cry” like 10X an episode or my voice is bad. If you need to cry. Cry! You are human and have been through so much and we all support you.

TryingtoremainafanCase RequestHi Sarah thanks for all your coverage for people who need it. Can you consider doing the case of Diane Drake from Rhode Island in 1980? It’s a VERY small town area and her case over the decades has gotten very little coverage until recently. Her many siblings are aging at this point. I’m almost certain that it’s a situation where there’s STILL people around who know what happened. A very sweet girl with plans to pursue criminal justice in college was murdered and it’s still unsolved. A week before it happened she had a tarot card reader tell her she had no future. Only a couple of people have covered this but it’s such an insular area where it happened that I think more publicity will really start to push things. Podcasts didn’t exist when Diane was murdered. The jurisdiction of the case is kind of split between two towns also which complicates things further. Her family does try to do a yearly beach memorial for her to drum up leads but as I said they are getting older at this point so I’m sure it’s not easy to keep it going. I know you have a long list but please consider putting her on it. Thank you.

Jleroy10Alissa TurneyThese podcasts are incredibly easy to listen to, Sarah’s voice and the way she edits the episodes makes me feel like I am right there with her. I am in this for Alissa. She deserves to be known and I will follow this until justice is served. Thank you Sarah for bringing light to your sister and many others along the way.

ca8112Emily PikeThe episode was very well written and researched. The host is sensitive, informed and respectful. Thank you for covering this case. ♥️

CaitlynC55Voices for Justice isn’t just a true crime podcast—it’s a powerful movement for truth, accountabilitHosted by the incredible Sarah Turney, this podcast goes beyond storytelling to actively fight for victims and their families. Sarah’s dedication to advocacy is unmatched, and you can feel her passion in every episode. What makes Voices for Justice so compelling is Sarah herself. As someone who has personally fought for justice in her own sister’s case, she brings a unique perspective that most true crime podcasts don’t have. She knows firsthand what it’s like to push for answers, deal with the legal system, and navigate the emotional toll of unsolved cases. Her storytelling is raw, insightful, and deeply respectful to the victims and their loved ones. Sarah doesn’t just recount cases—she amplifies them, bringing attention to those who need it most. Her research is thorough, her delivery is heartfelt, and her commitment to justice is truly inspiring. If you want a true crime podcast that actually makes a difference, Voices for Justice is the one. I cannot recommend it enough!

Princess1008The voice???I’m so confused by the put on voice. It’s so distracting I can’t even concentrate on the story. I’ve listened to you on other things and this isn’t how you spoke so I’m confused. I hate to not listen over something that seems so silly but it’s unfortunately just too much of a distraction.

Becky ShockLove! Love! Love!I absolutely love Sarah and her podcast style! Definitely one of my top five true crime podcast picks! Thanks Sarah!
-
OverIt…Great pod!I have updated my previous review. Sarah, the host has changed up the way she narrates the podcast! Love it!
-
Shellbz1Great content but a hard listenThe case reviews are thorough but this podcast is difficult to follow due to the extreme vocal fry. Sarah’s speaking voice is not like this - so why the change for the podcast? Wondering if she’s unsuccessfully trying to channel Kendall Rae. We want to hear you discuss the case as you would to a friend!
-
Jsk5891So many props to this hostShe works hard & does amazing job on this
-
EthAlRyMomStill hard to listen toI keep trying to listen. I like that the information given is intentional, accurate and ethical but some aspects of the delivery are off. The inflections of voice, the drawn out speaking and the filler words make it hard to take in the actual info. Could cut out almost all of the “buts” and “like I saids”. I don’t think it’s grammatically incorrect but those words tend to also be spoken in a drawn out manner and it’s distracting. Instead of “Buuut, aaas alwayssss, blah blah”. Just say “blah blah”. We aren’t have a conversation, we are here to listen. I know the host can talk faster because she says “right to our call to action” at a very different speed.

GrumpyLivesMatterOne of my top 3 true crime podcastsI took a break and came back and decided to start with the 2024 episode, Ayla Reynolds's case and Harmony Montgomery's cases especially hit home being from New Hampshire and living on the Maine border. Thank you as always for an amazing and well informed episode Sarah. You are a blessing . So happy to be back.
-
AugustbrookeFIVE STARS!Sarah, wow! You had me glued to your podcast along with being able to connect it with the documentary helped me visualize so much. You made me like I was right there the entire time. My heart will forever sit with this case until justice is SERVED!
-
CTuck1987Praying for answersI started watching the documentary featured on a network. I became fully invested in this case. My heart goes out to Sarah and her brothers for all they have endured through the years. This is such a heartbreaking story and I can’t imagine how hard this must be and not to have answers for what happened to Alyssa. I am so very sad for what happened to Alyssa and all of the abuse she endured through her short life. My prayers are with you and I pray that you will someday have answers. God bless you for going through all of this to get justice for your sister.
-
cakewalk33Good podcastI always enjoy these episodes, they are enjoyable to listen to and the research is done well. Please consider not doing the “secret after show”…all of a sudden there is all this nervous, weird chatter with lots of filler words. It is such an abrupt change from the polished podcasts, that I have to turn it off real quick, it is that irritating.
-
MeliLipIncredible StrengthI am new to the podcast, but have binged the episodes about Alissa’s story all within 2 days. I am so impressed how Sarah has been able to turn tragedy into such a powerful medium for making this world better. Her calm and collected manner in relating these two emotionally poignant stories in a factual manner and trying to find justice for victims is a gift to the world, and I applaud her strength and grace
-
NicoleBinder182Must ListenI couldn’t stop listening to this podcast. I’ve followed the story for a very long time and am amazed by this sister’s quest for the truth.
-
rachelledottieRiveting and inspiringJust listening to Sara’s reporting about her sister’s disappearance and her determination to find out what happened. My heart goes out to her for everything she has been through ❤️

Fast appReally Good!Props to Sarah Turney for dedicating her life to exposing this twisted story of her sister and her own childhood. I don’t know how you do it and I think you are absolutely Amazing. This story reminds me of memories of my adolescence and I hate what both of you guys went through. It wasn’t fair! I also think you have a lot of patience to be able to talk to your dad so patiently for the most part because he is so delusional and very manipulative. I use to work with master manipulators like himself and I just can’t stand hard headed, authoritative, and narcissistic men like him. I’ve gotten to the point his voice just makes me sickened to hear it. I wonder if he is paying justice for his awful acts of violence on all of his family each day. I’m sure he’ll never show it but his life can’t be great and I hope that he receives the justice he deserves someday. Again, I love how you are advocating for your sister and enjoy your other stories so far. There is no doubt she is looking down on you and saying “I love you and thank you” everyday.
-
GibbysonsWe all need a Sarah in our life 🖤Sarah is the best example of someone who will stop at nothing to find her sister Alissa. I’ve listed to every episode once and the ones of Alissa, twice! Alissa, Sarah and the brothers deserve justice!
-
zeb1256Love this podcastI have listened to every episode of this podcast and I will always support anything you do! Hearing the interview with your dad absolutely broke my heart. You are so strong and Alissa would be so proud of you.
-
Bcoco blocoInspiringI found Alyssa’s podcast during Covid and have been an avid listener since. The way she relentlessly pursues justice for her sister after others have repeatedly failed is endearing. The way she stands up to her father, law enforcement and the world, continuing to be the sole person fighting this battle head on is inspiring. Keep fighting the good fight! We see you, we are with you and we believe you!
-
Jenny DickesonUpdate episodeI hate this for you. I know you feel like hammering down and battering your dad with questions, but I don’t think this is good for you. It seems like he got to you in this episode. I think your dad is a narcissistic psychopath. There is no winning. They will never tell the truth. Every interaction will just be turned around on you. You will leave feeling crazy every single time while simultaneously they will act like no matter what they are the only one who will love you no matter what. It’s a lose lose. You will never be able to follow the logic of someone who constantly changes their story and manipulates every situation.
-
GloomierThanYouJustice for AlissaI really really feel for you Sarah. I want to pull my hair out just listening to your dad talking in circles. Sending positive vibes your way and prayers for justice for Alissa
-
TeachergurrlAlonzo BrooksThank you so much for covering this case! It doesn’t get the attention it deserves!
-
Ruby NauckNot entertainment/Courageous!Updated 09/30/24 to say Sarah has gone on to help other families and share others stories. Her podcast is one of the very few true crime podcasts that I will listen to because she encourages action and does more than tell stories for entertainment. She has opened my eyes and changed my viewpoints on true crime as a genre forever. Thank you Sarah for all that you do in the true crime space, you are making a difference! Sarah is so brave and passionate in the way that she presents her sister’s story. It takes a lot of courage to tell this story since it truly is so close to home for her. I hope they find justice for Alissa and bring some peace one day!
-
Riabadia86VoiceThe voice is unbearable. I listen to other her on other podcast as well as even listened to some of her recordings when she’s talking in earlier episodes and this is not the same. Not sure what the intention of using this particular cadence or voice is maybe someone could point me in a direction where she explains this because for such great content the voice is terrible.
-
MegxomccLove her voiceSarah’s voice is so soothing and her journalism is wonderful!
-
AbbyoliviaLots of love and constructive criticism??I ADORE you Sarah. You’re truly someone I admire and respect on multiple levels. I read everything you put out on twitter, and have followed your story since 2019. I’ve followed along with every twist and turn. I just…. I cannot listen to this podcast because of the cadence and intonation of your story telling. It sounds like every sentence ends with a question mark. I have misophonia, so maybe that’s just on me. But even if I can’t listen, I’ll give you all the ratings and reviews. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
-
Emilex67Vocal frySuch great content! The vocal fry and weird cadence of her voice makes it almost unlistenable. I’ve heard her voice on another podcast that she produced (Media Pressure, also great) and she didn’t sound like this so I’m not sure what’s happening.
-
cguitrau80Interesting stories but…The stories are interesting but the vocal fry & cadence (sounds like she’s reading 1 sentence at a time and it doesn’t “flow”) often makes it unbearable to listen to. I want to listen to the stories but sometimes I just can’t tolerate the vocal fry.
-
Annie4646True crime junkieI ran across a TikTok and knew I had to listen to the podcast as Sarah’s voice is mesmerizing and I felt so broken hearted hearing about Alissa. I surprisingly was already following! I’m new to podcast but normally start at the end, I immediately went to the beginning. My hearts broken but it’s amazing podcasts with great attention to detail. She keeps it interesting though so you don’t loose interest.
-
BgisurjaWhy do you talk like that? 😭This is great information. I wish I could listen. The only thing worse than a podcaster with weird inflections and vocal fry is a podcaster who whispers with weird inflections and vocal fry. Voice coach!
-
Mamag418Ethical True Crime ContentThis isn’t another mindless true crime podcast. Sarah is so intentional about each person that she features and always shares how to best help these cases. I’ve never heard of many of the cases that Sarah covers and she does them in the most ethical way. Thank you Sarah for all of your hard work and kindness. There is always hope.
-
Chel I amTrue passionYou can feel the passion Sarah has for each case. The information is thorough and her craft for telling the case is top notch. Thank you for your work.
-
KårreySleepy storytellingDifficult to listen to. Pace was very slow and tone of voice was just above a whisper. Not sure if this podcast is for inducing sleep?
-
Chris F! :)Enjoyable but ….the tone of voice is just too much for me.
-
KatyKat85Church WardHey Sarah! Great work in the Elizabeth Salgado case. I live in Utah (and work in the criminal justice system) and had no idea about her education and career goals. The media, especially local, focused on her being here as a result of religion and nothing else. Your podcast was the first place I heard about her career focus and goals. As for the church ward… it’s potentially true that she was in a different ward just by moving to another building in the same complex or if she moved further away. However, if it wasn’t a move of significant distance, it’s HIGHLY unlikely her ward would be in a different building. She would probably be in the same stake, which often could meet in the same building just having church services at a different time. Thank you for the focus on her and her goals!
-
Momto3douglasUpdate Suzanne MorphewLove listening to Sarah. I have been listening for a year and enjoy keeping these podcasts in my “up next” to listen to the latest and greatest. Sarah is a wonderful storyteller and has a big heart for the families in these cases. She comes with unique experience and that comes through in her approach to these stories.
-
veryunhappyas are othersFake sweetnessThis podcast takes interesting cases and ruins the telling of them with her adolescent way of presenting them. Her speech reminds of a 12 year old trying to sound sweet and loving but comes across as fake… very hard to get the gist of the story with all her opinions ( that she says are not judgments but really are judgments given in a passive aggressive way). Just try to sound like an adult and the stories would be so much better
-
Brooksy2083Love!Great podcast! I first listened to Missing Alissa and wasn’t sure if this would be just repeat, but it’s totally worth listening to. I am a mental health therapist and have family members with major mental illness and know fully well how exhausting it can be. Your patience is outstanding when talking to your father. You don’t allow him to take over your emotions and do a great job of sticking to the facts! It is so interesting to pick out his patterns when you confront him about certain topics he can’t think of an excuse to cover up right away. Laugh for a bit, change the subject….. it’s so clear to see. Amazing job from an amazing woman and sister!
-
kastarr20Well researched and planned contentI appreciate the way the host, Sarah Turney, presents each episode. The podcasts are well researched and laid out in an organized format. She doesn’t engage in opinion and doesn’t get side tracked with speculation. Keep up the great work!
-
Pg_1987VoiceSarah is a great voice for victims families. Her work is awesome but I have to agree, I don’t know what is with the inflections in her actual voice. I’ve heard her speak in interviews and she is easy to listen to. I understand being a little more monotone for this content, but the way she is dragging out the last syllable of words is extremely distracting. Trying to push through it. Time will tell…
-
Podcast junkie6791Fake voice is a hard noHer normal voice would be fine, but she changes it during the episodes. It is like nails on a chalkboard. Hard no which is sad because the content is great!
-
Jersey Girl in VermontFabulousVery caring host. Just found this podcast and it is a keeper. Very sorry for your sister. Keep up the good work! And Happy 18th Birthday to Marley.
-
DisneyLove93Incredible content, thoughtful coverageGiving a 5 star review for a 5 star, effective, compelling, well-thought out podcast and a creator who cares. Sarah is a deeply loving person who deserves all her flowers, and is inspirational for taking a negative to make a positive. And while that’s inspirational, it is recognized by this listener that the journey to get to this point has been long and hard - which is why her empathy for the victims and their loved ones is so apparent. Truly just an incredible and thoughtful podcast. If I may offer - the way the “s” sound or other consonants pop on the mic makes it hard for me to listen for long periods. If there was a pop filter or mic filter on to lessen those, I’d listen to the show non-stop. In its current form, I do need to take breaks as the sounds trigger my misophonia. Not enough to detract a star, but wanted to share the feedback. 🩶
-
MichellelmccSarah is braveI just found this podcast and I can’t turn it off. I’ve been listening for 10 hours today. I can’t believe the transcript events of Alissa and Sarah’s childhood. Although the topics are difficult to listen to I really enjoy listening to Sarah tell the stories. She has an easy way about her. Thank you Sarah for sharing your story.
-
ApesikSarah We Love YouSarah - your heartbreaking message at the end of Call to Action episode brought me to tears. We love you. We are all proud of you. Keep fighting for answers about Alissa. We’re behind you.
